Chère is an early work, created as an exercise in capturing the presence of a single flower. It was less about atmosphere or narrative and more about the discipline of observation — finding the shape, layering each petal, and allowing the colors to build into a rose that feels both delicate and strong.
The techniques I used here are very different from those that would later define my other works. It was a study in patience and layering, in building form through repetition and experimentation, and in learning how acrylic could be shaped in ways unique to this subject.
At its heart, Chère is a painting meant to be lived with — a piece that brings quiet elegance and natural beauty into a home. Simple, radiant, and timeless, it stands as both an early step in my journey and as a work that can brighten the space it inhabits.
