Glass House was painted on a 10x10 canvas in a single sitting, guided more by intuition than intention. It began with loose brushwork in swirling blues, then shifted into a raw, tactile process as I turned almost entirely to the canvas knife, giving the work its crystalline, fractured depth. What might have started as a castle in my mind became something unexpected — a glowing house that seemed to form itself while I listened to music, allowing the painting to unfold without a rigid plan.
For me, this became a metaphor for the creative person — an artist, different from the other houses on the street. A glass house is luminous, open, and set apart, but the very quality that makes it beautiful also makes it vulnerable. This duality of strength and fragility is what I see in the piece.
Glass House comes with its own customised easel. It also carries Web3 roots, having been minted as NFT on OpenSea in 2022.
